Solid Silver Raven Pendant

This magnificent raven perches on a silver rock listening to the wind or perhaps ancient voices. He or she is waiting, poised to take flight or simply to continue listening to the moment. 

The sculpture is inspired by the ravens that often pass over my workshop. They are heard first and then spotted as they wheel in the sky, dwarfing the other corvids that try to challenge them. Often in pairs they call to each other with their unmistakeable KRrrAAAkkkK. Ravens have been interlinked with mythology for thousands of years with many cultures associating them with war and death and also great wisdom, protection and prophecy

This piece, like all my Lost Wax Treasures is a complete one off - I may make more but each one will be subltly different.

Suspended in a round hoop, the raven was hand carved from wax before being cast in solid sterling silver using the lost wax casting technique. As the sculpture is 3 dimensional this pendant is striking from all angles especially when it is articulated by the wearer's movement.

The raven measures 35mm x 27mm x 7mm and commands the hoop it sits in which measures approx 50mm in diameter. Please note: this sculptured pendant is a big statement piece with a pleasing weight.

This Raven Pendant is hallmarked and comes with a heavyweight sterling silver snake chain and is presented in a  gift box.
