Silver Badger Brooch

The badger (Meles meles) is one of Britain’s most loved animals. Badgers live in family groups with strong social structures – they love, play, quarrel and interact with each other as can be observed from their behaviour if you are lucky to see them in the wild. This brooch was inspired by the endearing character of the badger and their iconic and striking facial markings. In many cultures the badger symbolises toughness, independence and tenacity.

Individually cut by hand from sterling silver sheet this lapel pin features freehand illustration - each badger is unique as I draw onto the surface of each one before permanently etching the design into the silver.
The brooch measures approximately 4cm across and features a neat and tidy tie-tack / pin and pinch clasp.
